Tauko Cardigan

Tauko is a Finnish word that means a break.
The Tauko Cardigan is a simple, all-stockinette stitch cardigan featuring drop shoulders and a casual fit. It is worked seamlessly from the top down, beginning with small back neck extensions that transition into a shawl collar, which is knitted simultaneously with the rest of the cardigan. The version shown here is long, but the length can easily be customized.

The cardigan is designed to be worn with large amount of positive ease from the bust.

Shown in size M (finished measurement 44"/110 cm worn on 34"/85cm bust).

MATERIALS:
YARN:
Borstet Alpakka (96% Brushed Alpaca, 4% Nylon; 50g/123 yds/110 m/skein). You need: 8 (9, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15) skeins or 903 (1007, 1107, 1214, 1317, 1420, 1510, 1640, 1753) yds / 808 (900, 990, 1085, 1178, 1270, 1350, 1467, 1568) m.
The sample is knitted in colorway 3040 (Sand).

NEEDLES:
US 10/6 mm ~ 32/80 cm circular needle for body and sleeves
US 8/5 mm ~ 32/80 cm circular needle for bottom ribbing
US 6/4 mm ~ 32/80 cm circular needle for sleeve cuffs.
Adjust the needle size to get the correct gauge.

OTHER:
Tapestry needle, stitch markers (4), stitch holders/scrap yarn

GAUGE:
13 sts and 18 rows = 4" / 10 cm in Stockinette stitch with (US 10/6 mm) needles.
